DRY GROUND
Who of us has not experienced dryness of soul?
What was once a fertile valley within has become a desert.
The Word has lost its vitality.
We hear only empty words.
Prayer is a useless exercise.
And, worst of all, we don't seem to care. Too many other things to distract us.
Apathy.
What will it take to wake me up?
Will I keep slumbering until a storm shakes me to my senses?
Must I be swallowed by a fish, like Jonah?
Or is there still a spark within my soul which can be stirred to life by me?
Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, That he may come and rain salvation upon you. Hosea 10
